Discovering Ecosystem and Carbon Cycle Responses to Global Change
The Cusack CarbonSystems Group studies how ecosystems are responding to drying, warming, nitrogen deposition, and altered land use. Their goal is to understand how carbon storage in natural systems will change as plant, soil, and microbial processes shift.
DANIELA CUSACK
Daniela is an ecosystem ecologist and biogeochemist with a research focus on terrestrial ecosystems and their role in storing carbon to mitigate climate change.
RESEARCH GROUP
We seek to understand how ecosystem characteristics and carbon cycles respond to changing climate and nutrient cycles.
ENGAGEMENT
We engage in science communication, outreach, and education. Daniela also offers consulting services in natural carbon uptake and storage pathways.
